This is my 100th post, just 329 days after my first post. Life sure has changed since then. I’m fully settled into fatherhood and I still love every minute of it. Of course, I’m even more scared now than I was back then. It’s so easy to protect a 3-month-old. A 14-month-old, on the other hand runs everywhere, gets into everything, dares to try it all, and loves danger. Nothing makes the E-man happier than doing something he shouldn’t be doing! Parenting doesn’t get any less worrisome, does it? Even when’s he’s my age I know I’ll still worry about him.
In other news, my dissertation is almost finished, my 1st author paper has been submitted, and my review will be submitted soon. I’ll wrap up the dissertation this weekend and hand it out to the committee members. August 3rd is the defense, and I can’t wait until it’s over. I’ve never been happy with my ability to think off-the-cuff, so needless to say I’m anxious about the whole process.
I have a question for the blogosphere. The E-man has been making himself throw up by sticking his fingers in his mouth, and I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Although we know it’s not unnatural or dangerous, it would be nice to know that other people have experienced this as well.

Sorry, I don’t recall that problem. I know that my kids always stick their fingers in their mouths when they are going through teething pain…but I don’t remember them getting to the point where they throw up.

My nearly year old daughter is constantly gagging herself with her fingers. I’m assuming its due to teething pain. She hasn’t caused herself to puke yet, but she seems to have come pretty close a couple of times. Don’t know if it is really normal or not, but it sure is a bit unsettling now ain’t it?

Lucas will sometimes put his fingers in his mouth a little too far and look like he’s about to gag, but that’s as far as it’s gone [thank goodness]. I’m glad that you’re enjoying fatherhood. Lucas is into EVERYTHING! OMG, it’s insane! LOL!
