A Day With Chuck E. Cheese
Yesterday after classes the family went out with my wife’s cousin’s family to the local Chuck E. Cheese (a children’s play place with games and lots of things to keep the kids busy). Here’s a few pictures of the fun!

This picture wasn’t taken at Chuck E. Cheese’s, but it was too funny not to include!!

A new camera!!
This week we decided it was time to upgrade our digital camera. We had an HP Photosmart 935 camera, and we’ve taken over 6000 pictures with it since we bought it in October 2003! That’s over 150 pictures per month! It was a great camera and it took fantastic pictures. Truth be told I’m going to miss it a little.
These days, with so many options, picking out a digital camera can be a long and arduous process. We had a few important criteria including quick writing speed, long battery life, both automatic and manual controls, and positive reviews. I spent a few days doing some research before we finally settled on the Canon PowerShot A540. It is both a point-and-shoot and a manual camera, allowing us to take traditional pictures and try some new things. We’re looking forward to taking lots of great pictures!
Here are a few early ones (actually, these are pictures #33 and #35)!!

Semester #2
I haven’t written much about school this semester, and I guess that in itself is a clue as to how things are going. I have 5 classes rather than 4, and the subject matter has turned out to be a little more challenging. I think everything will be alright, but it’s going to be a lot of work. A lot.
It took a while for the grades to come in, but it turns out that I did just fine, being in the top 15% of the class. I was shooting for 10%, but I’m not complaining!

And A Few Thoughts…
A few signs (from personal experience) that you’re a father in 2007:
- #1. You find yourself humming along to The Wiggles at work (or school, in my case). All day.
- #2. You can actually name all four Wiggles!
- #3. See #1 and #2 but replace the Wiggles with the Backyardigans.
We went out to dinner tonight to celebrate the end of a long week. The E-man got his own meal, grilled cheese and french fries. We normally don’t give him his own meal since he doesn’t eat much of it, but we thought we’d give it a whirl. Of course, the grilled cheese sandwich was fun to pull apart (to inspect the inside), and a few of the fries were tasty, but he wasn’t too into it. Instead, he devoured the steamed broccoli that came with our meals. It was a great opportunity to teach him the word ‘broccoli’, which he loved to say. It was funny though, because he would eat the crown and then hand the remainder to us to dispose of! He sure is my son! I’m a crown man, not a big fan of ’stalk’ as I call it. All we could do is laugh as he handed us ‘inedible’ stalk after ‘inedible’ stalk. And boy did he ever flirt with the servers!

A few pictures
The E-man loves banana cream pie:

And we’ve just started to think about potty training. Seems like he’s taken to it just fine:

And tonight he found my wife’s socks on the floor and thought it would be fun to try them on:

I was supposed to be studying…
I was supposed to be studying in the library today, but I couldn’t get into the reading and decided to see what Google Reader had for me. I found a post about a quiz someone had taken and thought I would try it out. Looks like 18 years of Sunday School paid off:
Wow! You are awesome! You are a true Biblical scholar, not just a hearer but a personal reader! The books, the characters, the events, the verses - you know it all! You are fantastic!
